Translation on NPR

Via Boston Translation blog, NPR's Rick Kleffel on "The Art of Translation". Emphasis on "art."

P.S. Here's my own interview on NPR about Mexico: A Traveler's Literary Companion, my anthology of 24 Mexican writers. On the NPR website you can read the excellent short stories by Araceli Ardon and Monica Lavin, and Ricardo Elizondo Elizondo. Makes a not only very enjoyable but very affordable--- and portable--- holiday gift, hint hint. Buy it here. More anon.

Araceli Ardon

Mexican writer Araceli Ardon has just launched a new website in both English and Spanish versions. It includes information about her books, as well her articles on other writers, including Fuentes, Mastretta, and Pamuk. Check it out at www.araceliardon.com And she's blogging! I was delighted to be able to translate her razor-sharp short story, "It is Nothing of Mine," set in Queretaro, Mexico--- which appears in my anthology, Mexico: A Traveler's Literary Companion. I talked about her story on my interview with National Public Radio--- and the NPR website has the entire story on-line. More anon.
