Cyberflanerie: Sound Edition

A bunch of videos about the Integratron (prepare to be beamed up...)

Ludovico Einaudi piano concert (yummy)

Jonathan Goldman's The Healing Sounds Show (Internet radio)

So this Belgian singer, "Stromae" does, shall we say, an unusually unrehearsed TED video and his hit song is a simple disco ditty, yet somehow, with a beautiful and childlike energy, he nevertheless captures his audience. Very interesting to watch. (P.S. Be the, like, 7 billionth person to watch Stromae's Alors on danse.)

Jim Oliver's Healing Music

While in Albuquerque-- where I read at the Bookworks--- I happened to meet Jim Oliver, a composer visiting from Santa Fe who specializes in healing music. As I catch up on (or rather, approach the foothills of the Himalayas of) my e-mail backlog, I've been listening to his CD, "Radiant Heart" for most of today, and recommend it. More anon.

Madam Mayo's Sleepy Doggie

It's not only been psychoacoustically designed by none other than music producer and sound researcher Joshua Leeds, but it's also been clinically tested on 150 subjects by veterinary neurologist Susan Wagner. And it's very beautiful... classical selections played by concert pianist Lisa Spector. Through a Dog's Ear: Music to Calm Your Canine Companion, is like a cup of valium for the furry ones... I tried it on my pug, Picadou, and we got some major zzz's...
